20.03.06: an inventory check
have no particular subject in mind to blog about today, but it just felt like a good moment to say something as i sit here in my little room after having returned relatively early from work and it's still a little early for dinner. it's been a busy couple of weeks, and now it's time for a short breather and a long weekend coming up where i'll be heading to the french alps for some snowboarding...woohoo! weather forecast is looking not so great, but we'll tough it out. nothing more romantic than getting snowed in little meribel ski station in the middle of the three valles, right? wink wink
change of subject...i'm sad to report that my happiness over spring arriving in barcelona was unfortunately short-lived. it's been back to cold again and quite cloudy these days, and jackets are still indispensible items of clothing if you venture outside. in fact, suffering from a cold right now that maybe, just maybe a result of that afortunate day of jacket-less pleasure. sigh...hopefully spring will be here to stay soon!
actually, seems like an appropriate time for a little inventory check. so here goes:- for the mind: my weekly time europe magazines, from cover to cover
- for the "learning spanish" mind: el guitarrista, by luis landero
- for the ears: si, julieta venegas
- for the taste: still munching on candies from sant medir
- for the movie experience: el castillo ambulante(howl's moving castle - japanese anime)
- for inspiration: business week's innovation and designsection
- for new discoveries: butifarras asadas from la selva: pre-cooked sausages - two minutes to heat and they're ready to go. yum!
- for old cravings: old episodes of law and order
- for expectations: french alps!!
- for new accomplishments: starting to understand spanish tv
- for new challenges: not saying to people "cuando estes acabado..." and saying instead "cuando hayas acabado...". former in spanish means "when you are dead" (but directly translates to "when you are finished") and the latter means correctly, "when you have finished...". oops.
